They're not old enough to lay eggs yet, but they are getting there fast.
Uh, wait a sec! What is that? A rooster? Oops. That wasn't supposed happen. I asked Dad/Grandpa if they can take him back to the store. I guess they don't take returns on chickens.
They enjoy pecking at EVERYTHING. Lori said that there was a lone weed near the coop when they let them out last time and they pecked at it until there was nothing left.
Elizabeth decided to catch another one to put on the grass but this is about as far as she got. They kept moving so fast! Or maybe it's just that Elizabeth knows that their beaks and claws are a lot sharper now.
They'll just have to figure it out on their own.
PS - this is what happens when you eat a blue otter pop. :)

My neighbor recently got chickens, and I asked her about the rooster problem. She said since you can't tell them apart when they're chicks, if you get a rooster (or two, or three), you're supposed to kill it. She wasn't happy about that prospect. Luckily, all 4 of theirs were hens. She said they're easy to take care of. Maybe you're closer to that reality for yourself than you think! :)
